"Heroes of the biathlon" continues: Erik Lesser chats from the sewing box in Oberhof
The successful talk series "Heroes of the Biathlon" will continue during the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2024. On Wednesday, January 3, 2024 - the evening before the first competition - former biathlete Erik Lesser will provide an exciting insight into his career and life after competitive sport.
He won the silver medal in the relay at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and became world champion in the pursuit and relay just one year later. Erik Lesser has shaped the sport of biathlon for over a decade - as an athlete and as a person. His opinion and knowledge are in demand. As a competitive athlete, he was a welcome interview guest and launched the podcast "Das Biathlon Doppelzimmer" with Arnd Peiffer. Since the end of his active career, he has worked as an expert on the ARD microphone and now also as a shooting coach at the federal base in Oberhof.
Erik Lesser will therefore have plenty to talk about when he is invited on stage on the eve of the first competition of the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2024 in Oberhof. On Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 6.30 pm, the 35-year-old will analyze the first World Cup trimester in the Haus des Gastes in Oberhof (Crawinkler Straße 2, 98559 Oberhof), look ahead to the upcoming competitions in the ARENA am Rennsteig and reveal anecdotes and insights from the biathlon circus. "I'm looking forward to a knowledgeable audience, interesting questions and a great evening," he says.
